James Brown Appointed Vice Chair of RIA Midlands & Eastern Leadership Group

Belvoir Rail is pleased to announce that James Brown, our Managing Director, has been appointed as the new Vice Chair for the Railway Industry Association (RIA) Midlands & Eastern Leadership Group.

James will continue his role as Managing Director of Belvoir Rail while undertaking his new responsibilities as Vice Chair. In this capacity, James will be working closely with Chair Sekoura Benissad, Operations Director at SYSTRA, to drive forward the strategic aims of the group.

As Vice Chair, James will help deliver a range of group events throughout the year, while actively promoting the needs of businesses within the rail supply chain.

James brings extensive experience and a strong network of connections with stakeholders and suppliers across the Midlands and Eastern region. He is a committed advocate for SMEs, passionate about driving innovation, and dedicated to the positive impact local businesses can have on the rail industry and broader communities.

Commenting on the appointment, James said: “I’m honoured to step into the role of vice chair. Working in this region means a lot to me, and I’m proud of the ambition, diversity and capability we bring to rail. My focus as chair is bridging innovation and supply chain partnerships to position our region at the heart of the railway sector's growth. I'm dedicated to representing our region's unique strengths and ensuring our voices are heard loud and clear.

The Railway Industry Association (RIA) represents the UK rail supply community, supporting the growth of a sustainable, high-performing rail industry. The RIA Midlands & Eastern Leadership Group supports rail investment and advocates for projects such as HS2, Midlands Rail Hub, and East West Rail.

Through this work, the group contributes to a rail network that supports 160,000 jobs, generates £8.3 billion in economic growth, and brings in £2.6 billion in tax revenue for the region.
