Members of the Belvoir Rail Team joined over 1200 rail, engineering and supply chain colleagues at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers Railway Division Annual Luncheon in London.
The luncheon is the largest single event in the railway calendar that brings together colleagues from all parts of the rail and supply chain to meet, network and engage.
The Luncheon was hosted by Noel Travers, Chair of the Rail Division, Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Neil highlighted the role Engineers have played in creating and advancing the railway and the importance of continuing to attract and retain the talent needed to keep the industry moving forward.
Lord Patrick McLoughlin delivered an after-lunch keynote speech with insights into his previous role of Transport secretary where he oversaw large scale government investment in rail. Lord McLoughlin reiterated the need for fare and ticket modernisation and simplification. He also commented on HS2 and how the high speed link will increase long distance capacity to the North of England.
