We were delighted to welcome The Rt Hon Lord Patrick McLoughlin to the Belvoir Rail Head Office in Cotgrave this week. As the Chair for Transport of the North, Lord McLoughlin holds a strategic role in shaping the future direction of rail transport across the North.
During his visit, Lord McLoughlin engaged with our team, sharing insights and discussing the critical role of innovation in addressing the challenges faced by the rail industry. We are pioneering a number of innovative solutions and we were pleased to share our experiences with Lord McLoughlin.
Lord McLoughlin has had an extensive career in UK politics spanning more than 30 years. He served as Secretary of State for Transport between 2012 and 2016 overseeing key investments and work programmes. He took his seat in the House of Lords in 2020.
