Belvoir Rail has joined forces with Rail Safe Friendly, a pioneering programme aimed at promoting rail safety awareness in schools.
Rail Safe Friendly, which is run by digital education provider Learn Live, was launched in March 2023 and delivers video safety content directly to schools through its Learn Live Channel.
With the support of the Trespass Improvement Team at Network Rail, Learn Live delivers live and on-demand rail safety broadcasts, reaching classrooms and assembly halls. To date, the initiative has successfully engaged over 1,400 schools across the UK.
Belvoir Rail is set to sponsor 10 local schools as part of the Rail Safe Friendly initiative, contributing to the delivery of engaging content for students, teachers, and parents. The programme aims to educate children and young people about the potential risks associated with railways, such as electrified tracks and overhead cables.
James Brown, Managing Director of Belvoir Rail said: “Partnering with Rail Safe Friendly was an easy decision for us. We're committed to ensuring young people and our local communities understand the risks associated with the railway environment. By providing rail safety education to children and parents, we're taking a proactive approach to prevent accidents. Early awareness is crucial, and that's why we're proud to support this initiative."
Belvoir Rail joins a growing number of companies within the rail industry supporting the Rail Safe Friendly program. The collective goal is to ensure comprehensive rail safety education reaches all schools in the UK by 2025.
