The Belvoir Rail team was in high spirits as they joined the Institute of Mechanical Engineers for the much-anticipated Railway Division Annual Luncheon.
Held at the elegant JW Marriott Grosvenor House and drawing 1,200 attendees from across the rail and engineering sectors, this event marked a significant highlight in the railway industry calendar.
Andrew Skinner, Chair of the Railway Division and Head of Engineering at Great Western Railway, took the stage to emphasise the importance of inclusive environments and the critical role they play in supporting future engineers. His impassioned address resonated with the audience, highlighting the need for collaboration and diversity in shaping the rail industry’s future.
The event’s guest speaker, Jim Steer, Non-Executive Director of consultancy firm Steer and Director of Greengauge 21, delivered a compelling speech. Steer’s focus? To reassert the significance of rail in the upcoming General Election. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and strikes, Steer presented optimistic statistics for rail’s recovery.
A collection was made during the luncheon in support of the Railway Benefit Fund.
